Poem for a Dollar

A September Poem That Will Knock you in the Face.
That Doesn’t Work Anymore.
You Never Listen to Me.
Those were the titles I tossed to poets Becky and Miriam yesterday at their Willy Street Fair booth. The Fair is an annual Madison tradition, now in its 29th year.
As people stood by and watched, Becky and Miriam created personalized poems, based on any title you’d suggest, for a buck apiece. After filling a page, they read the poems aloud, usually to applause from delighted bystanders.
I’m going to frame these things.
